‘Try to make time for the small things,’ said Big Panda.

‘They are often the most important.’

A few weeks ago, the good people from Penguin Random House sent me the most beautiful book for review – Big Panda and Tiny Dragon by James Norbury. I became quite attached to the book and kept it close by me.

The book follows two friends, Big Panda and Tiny Dragon as they journey through a year together. Filled with words of wisdom and exquisite illustrations, Big Panda and Tiny Dragon is a calming book. Take time to let the text sink in and to appreciate the exquisite illustrations drawn in an Asian style.

I looked James Norbury up and found out he lives in England with his wife and five cats. He volunteered at the Samaritans and listened to suicidal callers, and he hopes to one day open a sanctuary for animals. James was inspired to create Big Panda and Tiny Dragon after studying Buddhist philosophy and spirituality.

Big Panda and Tiny Dragon resonated deeply with me. I keep it by my bedside and it’s the book I hope I turn to in dark moments.

If you enjoyed The Boy, the Mole, the Fox & the Hero, then I highly recommend Big Panda and Tiny Dragon. This is one book I’ll be buying many times over for my family and friends.
